We used to begin our job search with the classified section of the newspaper. I remember the newspaper being all it would take to find a suitable job, and it was a relatively quick process. However, it's not that simple these days. The classified section is small for 2 reasons. Number 1 is the obvious, there are less jobs. But number 2 is more important in relating to a successful job search today. And that is, most employers who have available positions don't use the newspaper classifieds to advertise and fill those positions. They are using other resources. Some of those resources are free to them which saves them the expense of classified advertising. You need to be informed as to where these available jobs are being promoted.
